Fodor's Review

With a top-notch restaurant on-site, this pleasant cottage colony comes to life at meal times; for the rest of the day, lose yourself in Fourways' quiet solitude and endless hospitality. Though there are only a few attractions within walking distance, it's very easy to pass the time in such a beautiful garden setting. The colony is set amid a profusion of greenery and flowers around a pool; its suites have marble floors and balconies or patios. The charming, historical feel continues through the main edifice, a family home, which belonged to the owners of Harvey's Bristol Crème in the 1700s. And, in keeping with the old-fashioned décor, the service is exemplary.

Christmas at Fourways

I stayed at Fourways over Christmas in 2011. The inn was largely empty and this was fine by me! I enjoyed the peaceful, quiet grounds of the inn and found the restaurant enchanting. It was also terrific to be just a minute's week from a bus stop and five minutes walk to a large grocery store.

Jewel of Bermuda

I love this small, intimate cottage colony. The rooms have recently been renovated and are most attractive and comfortable. They have small kitchenette areas allowing for easy storage of drinks, snacks, etc. The grounds are gorgeous. Breakfast and the paper brought to your room every morning starts the day in a wonderful fashion. Easy walk to grocery store, Bermuda Railway Trail, the ferry or a bus stop.

Fourways Inn Restaurant - Relying on it's past glory?

The Fourways Inn restaurant was highly recommended to us for our 25th anniversary dinner. What a disappointment! We ordered the "tableside" caesar salad, only to have it brought out already made. When we questioned the manager, he said "we don't do it anymore since most people are in a rush today and don't want to wait"!! Ten minutes later, we saw a caesar salad being made tableside a few tables away! The dishes from each course were cleared immediately

as we put our utensils down and the next course plopped down. I couldn't believe this is called "fine dining". This restaurant requires some desserts to be ordered when you order your meal since it takes a while to prepare, which we did. But as the waiter was taking our dinner plates away, another waiter was walking out with our dessert!! That was the last straw, my husband told them to take it back while we finished our wine and digested our rushed dinner. Of course, another dessert had to be made from scratch since it was a souffle. The manager (or maitre d) was a prima donna who made light of any problems. Perhaps if this were not a special occassion and if we weren't paying such a premium, we would just chalk it up. This was our first visit to Bermuda and we both felt this restaurant is relying on it's "past glory". There are other fine restaurants in Bermuda....don't waste your money here.

My favorite hideaway in Bermuda

This accomodation is not ocean front. The hotel has priviledges with Coco Reef, a five minute cab ride away. It is a charming, small inn with excellent service. It is located a five minute walk from the Ferry, Bermuda's wonderful public transportation system, and a five minute walk to the Bermuda Railroad Trail, which is an excellent way to get around in Bermuda. My room had a lovely harbor view, was large, clean and comfortable. The service level

is very personal. It is also a very safe place to stay. The morning coffee and pastries delivered to your room is a great bonus. Relax, read the paper and listen to the Bermuda birds before you start your day.

Eat Here But Don't Spend the Night

The restaurant is excellent, but the accomodations are disappointing. The rooms are large but a bit shabby, and the location is very inconvenient. Stick to one of the excellent (albeit more expensive) beach resorts.
