Coco Reef Resort Review
In the prime location of the highly desirable Elbow Beach, this hotel is tired and in need of an update, but you'll probably be too busy admiring the gorgeous views to let it bother you. The views from the oceanside pool terrace are dazzling and many of the rooms are right on the beach. Coco Reef is quite a small and simple hotel, and you have to be prepared for the 1980s throwback decor, including a mirrored reception area, wicker furniture, and colorful aqua-and-peach floral quilts. The two peach-coloured hotel buildings, tucked away behind Bermuda College, don't look that inviting either, especially as one of them is uphill. But it's a good pick as long as you don't expect the height of luxury for the high price tag. The beach stretches almost a mile and this is the closest beach resort to the city of Hamilton.

Coco Reef is in an excellent location and features remarkable ocean views from nearly every room. Unfortunately though, poor service mars the experience. When we mentioned a leaky toilet in our room, the staff responded quickly by delivering a fresh towel to sop up the mess every morning. The front desk provided advice and service that ran the gamut from ignorance to rudeness. Coco Reef is more than just a resort; it also doubles as a Fawlty Towers theme park. Oh, and do try the fish sandwich at the Coco Reef restaurant--really yummy!
