  Sandy Lane Hotel and Golf Club Review

  Let me tell you my Christmas Eve experience of Sandy Lane:
  
  We arrived in Barbados the previous Monday and were recommended by a friend to try and get a table at Bajan Blue. The only opportunity we had was Christmas Eve and although we already had a reservation at a top restaurant we thought we would try and get a table. We called on the telephone number in Menu Barbados 2011, to be honest we called more in hope than expectation. On getting through we were told they were full but then asked to hold for a moment. We were then informed they had a table for 5 for 8PM on the the 24th which we took. The lady took my mobile number plus our room number at the Crane resort and all seemed very efficient.
  We arrived by taxi after a 40 minute journey to be met by the gateman who clearly sees people arriving as an issue where any form of politeness is far too much to expect. The taxi driver gave our name and where we were going and was greeted back by "no"!
  I asked what and was told he had no record of us and we were not coming in and to clear the drive.
  I asked him to call the restaurant and was told the telephone did not work -good security? Still cleary annoyed that we dared question him he suddenly produced a mobile and called up, he told me the manageress would come down.
  In fact his phone rang and a woman who claimed to be the duty manager spoke to me. She confirmed we had no reservation, I offered to show her my mobile where a four minute call with the restaurant could be seen, she asked if we had e-mail confirmation
  and i said no. She told me this was impossible as they insisted on email confirmation, I asked how i could know that and was she calling me a lair?
  Clearly she was as she told me basically tough and go away!
  I don’t think i have been so rudely treated since I was 10 years old.
  When I made the call my wife and entire family heard the conversation and we made a booking which somehow Sandy Lane got wrong.There is not doubt in this!
  This can happen, I travel all around the world and have stayed at most of the great hotel and things go wrong.
  What makes a good hotel is how you deal with it and clearly they deal with it by rudeness. If we had been greeted with we are full and clearly something has gone wrong but let us see if we can get you a reservation elsewhere I would have been upset but not as angry as I am now. Thanks to them my family did not have any dinner till 9PM and only then as the taxi driver spent the time on his mobile finding us a restaurant as he was so embarrassed as to the behavior of his fellow Bajans!

  May i wish your resort the type of 2012 it deserves, and i dont mean a good one!
  Really a place to avoid!
