This small seaside inn on the southeast coast is the sweetest deal we've found on the entire island. Forego the flashy accoutrements of a resort and, instead, claim one of these stylish suites. With no in-room noisemakers and no children around, the only sounds you will hear are the gentle surf and your own conversations. Hands-on British owners Adrian and Margaret Loveridge have been running Peach since 1988; they renovated and refurbished the entire property in 2004. Decor in the spacious suites, arranged in whitewashed Mykonos-inspired buildings, is elegantly spare. Cooled by ceiling fans, each suite also has a large terrace or balcony; bathrooms have showers only. Besides lazing in the freshwater pool and windsurfing at nearby beaches (a five-minute walk), guests enjoy swimming and snorkeling in a natural "rock pool," joining early-morning or late-afternoon walks, and stargazing at night. You're advised to rent a car. Pros: peace and quiet; adults-only environment; engaging owners; stargazing and nature walks are special treats. Cons: inn is closed half of the year; remote location requires a rental car.

Don't tell all your friends about this place. It is a jewel and the bargain of the century. If you can handle not having air conditioning, which by the way is not necessary, and can accept towels that are not as fluffy as you might want, then this is the place for you. Great location, great food available if you like, wonderful hosts, close to the airport. A real bargain.

My boyfriend and I visited in the winter of 2002 and returned for our honeymoon in 2006. It was difficult to have to wait so long between visits. The P & Q staff are exceptional at making each and every person's visit personal and perfect. The food is fantastic and Margaret and Adrian make your vacation all about you. While one can easily visit the rest of the island through public transportation or car rentals, who wants to? Once you've checked in, you won't need (or want) to leave. The beauty of the island and the sea isn't marred by tourists and time seems to stop and fly by when visiting. I can't wait for any opportunity to visit again.
