Daphne's

Daphne's Review

The beachfront restaurant of The House, Daphne's is the chic Caribbean outpost of the famed London eatery Daphne's of Chelsea. Chef Marco Festini Cromer whips up contemporary Italian cuisine. Grilled mahi-mahi, for example, becomes "modern Italian" when combined with marsala wine, peperonata (stewed peppers, tomatoes, onions, and garlic), and zucchini. Perfectly prepared melanzane (eggplant) and zucchini alla parmigiana is a delicious starter, and a half portion of risotto with porcini mushrooms, green beans, and Parma ham is fabulously rich. Pappardelle with braised duck, red wine, and oregano is a sublime pasta choice. The extensive wine list features both regional Italian and fine French selections.

Enjoyed a fabulous dinner above the waves of Payne's Bay at Daphne's. Service was professional and attentive, the food perfect. The evening was capped off by a walk to our hotel down the beach . On the top of the list of restaurants in Barbados.
