Daphne's

Updated 02/27/2014

Fodor's Review

The beachfront restaurant at The House, Daphne's is the chic Caribbean outpost of the famed London eatery of the same name, with chef Marco Festini Cromer whipping up contemporary Italian cuisine. Grilled mahimahi, for example, becomes "modern Italian" when combined with marsala wine, peperonata (stewed peppers, tomatoes, onions, and garlic), and zucchini. Perfectly prepared melanzane (eggplant) and zucchini alla parmigiana is a delicious starter, and a half

portion of risotto with porcini mushrooms, green beans, and Parma ham is fabulously rich. Pappardelle with braised duck, red wine, and oregano is a sublime pasta choice. There's even a gluten-free dinner menu. The extensive wine list features both regional Italian and fine French selections.

Great evening at Daphne's

Enjoyed a fabulous dinner above the waves of Payne's Bay at Daphne's. Service was professional and attentive, the food perfect. The evening was capped off by a walk to our hotel down the beach . On the top of the list of restaurants in Barbados.

Daphneeds to learn to cook

A let down of global preportions this restaurant. In fact no one should go there until they learn how to cook pasta simply and properly. My calamari and spaghetti had the same look and taste as assorted bits of plastersine. It's the sister of the one in Chelsea? So what - that one isn't that good either.

Daphne's is delish

I found the food at Daphne's to be stupendous. Very very good, with generous portions. The service was much better than the Bajan standard, which isn't saying much but it was good by NYC or London standards. The interior design is all wood and fabric, shifting in the ocean wind like sails on a yacht. Very soothing and the music was lovely. I think that the prices are high but worth it. The best place that we dined at. (we also ate at Carambola

and Josef's).

Chic interior, ocean view, excellent dining

LOVED this restaurant - its service, friendly valet parking staff, tasty cuisine, and chic setting. Stayed in Barbados for 11 days and dined at all of the best restaurants - this was our #1 choice. Best service on the island.

NYC Chic

This restaurant is excellent. Very cool chic style and it is on the beach. Our food was excellent, you must order a side of the zuchini frite! Great martini and drink menu, except I'm prego so I couldn't tell you if they tasted good. Service was good, definitely a destination on the island. (Also, Calabazza is new and another cool restaurant to check out).
