Fishing

Fishing is a year-round activity in Barbados, but prime time is January through April when game fish are in season. Whether you're a serious deep-sea fisher looking for marlin, sailfish, tuna, and other billfish or prefer angling in calm coastal waters where wahoo, barracuda, and other fish reside, you can choose from a variety of half- or full-day charters departing from The Careenage in Bridgetown. Expect to pay $195 per person for a shared half-day charter; for a private charter (up to six people), expect to pay $500 to $700 per boat for a four- to six-hour half-day charter or $900 to $1,000 for an eight-hour full-day charter. Spectators who don't fish are welcome for $50 per person.
