Sammy T's Beach Resort Review

Tucked away in a small cove on a dream beach, this tranquil, friendly resort has seven one- and two-bedroom villas. The on-site restaurant serves three meals a day, plus afternoon snacks like conch fritters and conch chowder. Sammy T passed away in 2011 and some say the place just isn't the same.

Fodors: Your description is not quite accurate

Did the reviewer actually stay there and if so, when and for how long?

Yes, the beach is beautiful and the resort is tranquil, but the pool is not a few steps from the beach (unless you have a very liberal definition of a few steps). It is directly in front of the restaurant porch and in full sun all day. No one used it when we were there even though people said they would have if it were in a different location.

The meals were not "delicious", they were "okay". The chef (who everyone said was a great cook) left a couple months ago. Now the main courses were mostly overcooked and dry. There were no "afternoon goodies", not sure what you mean. The ocean view rooms are a great distance from the beach and behind the gardens (which are lovely). You have to have a lot of imagination to view more than a couple inches of the ocean from an ocean view room. The garden view rooms are down a flight of stairs behind the restaurant and in the parking lot.

You should tell people that they charge for using a credit card, because the hotel doesn't tell you this until you get the bill.
