$, Caribbean, Grand Bahama Island
Fodor's Review:
For Bahamian food fixed by Bahamians, head east to the generational property of an old island family, just beyond Taíno Beach. When you stop at Gretchen Wilson's place for cracked conch, lobster tail, and barbecue chicken down-home style, you'll feel as though you're dining in someone's spotlessly clean home. On Wednesday nights the quiet little settlement comes to life when Outriggers throws its famous weekly fish fry. In winter the Outriggers Beach Club, across the street, serves light lunch.
