Opened in July 2003, the museum houses the works of esteemed Bahamian artists such as Max Taylor, Edison Godfrey Rolle, Grant Mallone, John Cox, and Dionne Benjamin Smith. The glorious Italianate-colonial mansion, built in 1860, has double-tiered verandahs with elegant columns. It was the residence of Sir William Doyle, the first chief justice of the Bahamas. Don't miss the museum's gift shop, where you will find books about the Bahamas and Bahamian quilts and crafts.
