Fodor's Review:

Johnny Canoe is said to have been a wild-living African chieftain from whose name, most believe, the word Junkanoo is derived. If you can't make it to the Junkanoo festivals on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, this is your best opportunity to see a mini-Junkanoo parade. Complete with real costumes and Junkanoo music, the show winds among this crowded restaurant's tables each Friday night at 8. With spacious outdoor seating and a menu of traditional Bahamian fare—cracked conch and grouper fillet—as well as burgers, chicken, ribs, and tropical drinks, this has become a favorite casual hangout for visitors. Desserts include guava duff and Bacardi rum cake. Breakfast is also served daily from 7 to 11 AM.

In January 2009 this restaurant closed. It was part of the Nassau Beach Hotel which was slated for demolition to make way for the new Baha Mar Development.

WE CAME TO EAT AND THE PLACE WAS LIKE A ZOO. WE ORDERED THE FOOD AND THEY DID NOT BRING THE FRENCH FRIES FOR THE KIDS.Also asking for a refill of lemonade was a nightmere waiting forever. The music very load and the place very load. Not a good place for a family trip.
