Fodor's Review:
Since the early 1940s when George Constantakis arrived from Greece and opened this hotel, the Grand Central has been an affordable inn with a perfect location, steps away from Bay Street in downtown Nassau. Horse-drawn surreys pass by on the narrow lane of Charlotte Street, making it easy to picture yourself in colonial Nassau. Ask for a room that opens onto a balcony with views of the cruise ships docked at the end of the street. Guest rooms are clean and tidy, with two double beds or one double bed and a single, new pine furniture, and private baths with tubs and showers. Eleven rooms are in a guesthouse next door. Jimmy's take-out restaurant, next door, offers authentic Bahamian breakfasts and lunches, including fried chicken and pan-seared snapper. This hotel is the best deal in Nassau, and room prices include taxes and service.
