Southwest Point

Fodor's Review:

From Southwest Point, a mile or so south of the capital, you can see Cuba's coast—slightly more than 50 mi west—on a clear day from atop the lighthouse (built in 1870 in response to a huge number of shipwrecks on offshore reefs). This is one of the last four hand-operated kerosene lighthouses in the Bahamas. Be sure to sign the guest book after your climb.
