Nicholl's Town, at Andros's northeastern corner, is the island's largest village, with a population of about 600. This friendly community has stores for supplies and groceries, a few hotels, a public medical clinic, a telephone station, and small restaurants. A few miles north of Nicholl's Town is a crescent beach and a headland known as Morgan's Bluff, named after the 17th-century pirate Henry Morgan, who allegedly dropped off some of his stolen loot in the area. Morgan's Bluff is the site of the All Andros Crabfest in June, an annual party with a crafts fair, sailboat races, live music, and plenty of Bahamian food and drink.
