Fodor's Review:

Though the 2004 post-hurricane closure of the Royal Oasis Resort and Casino has given this once-vibrant shopping area a down-at-the-heels look, some restaurants and shops, along with the straw market, remain open, especially along the perimeter and in International Arcade at the west end. At the entrance stands a 35-foot torii arch, a red-lacquered gate that is a traditional symbol of welcome in Japan. Merchants host a Blackbeard's Treasure Hunt with prizes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with free transportation from major resorts.
