$$-$$$, Green Turtle Cay
Fodor's Review:
Purchased by Ann Showell Mariner and Adam Lockhart Showell Sr. in 2004, the longstanding tradition of casual refinement continues at this well-known resort. The cheerful yellow cottages are scattered up a hillside amid lush trees and shrubs. Villa accommodations have decks overlooking the water and docks for rental boats; poolside rooms are more formal, furnished with mahogany Queen Anne-style furniture, gleaming hardwood floors, and Oriental rugs. Breakfasts and lunches are served on a screened, terra-cotta tile patio, but it's dinner under the harbor-view dining room's chandeliers -- which transport you back to the 1920s -- that makes the club shine. Choose from an ever-changing menu ($$-$$$) that might include fresh grilled lobster, sautéed lemon grouper, or rack of lamb, accompanied by the best selection of wines in the Abacos.
