Fodor's Review

If you prefer down-home coziness over slick glamour, then this inn—on the site of a former orange plantation perched on a hilltop overlooking the ocean—is the place to stay. Irish transplant Judy Lowe, who's owned the inn for more than 30 years, and her son Brendan treat guests like family. The inn is a half-hour drive from town, 15 minutes from the casino, and 300 feet from a pleasant roadside beach. Rooms and apartments vary considerably in size, and are all decorated

with simple pine furniture and tropical bedding. Some of the larger poolside rooms lack an ocean view, so be sure to state your preference when booking. There's a restaurant on-site serving Bahamian and continental fare, and you can help yourself at an honor bar set up in the cozy living room. The inn provides daily trips to a nearby grocery store for guests who want to stock up their in-room refrigerator.

Not perfect but just right

Orange Hill Beach Inn is an inexpensive place to stay away from the action. It's quiet but very convenient for the airport so it would be an ideal place for an overnight when en route to another island. The beach is just across the street and was virtually deserted while we were there. It's a short walk to the prettier Love Beach and there are frequent jitney buses to take you into town.

comfortable and convenient

My wife and I needed a one-night stay on New Providence Island and did not want to be in Nassau. We found this inn on a quick search and chose it more for its location (Cable Beach - a short cab ride from the airport) and its price. The staff was excellent, the pool refreshing. the room comfortable but nothing special, the food and honor bar commendable. The inn apparently has a lot of returning customers, and if I happen to need to spend another

night on the island, I would spend it here.

Orange Hill? Peach fuzz in bathroom and on sheets!

What a great disappointment! I was expecting simple, quiet and clean. What I got was falling apart, noise through the wall from other rooms and filth. It was too late to leave or I'd have been outta there...ugh. Would not recommend if it was free! This is an aging motel that is ill-kept, with fuzzy sheets, mold in the bathroom and a general state of disrepair. I've stayed at better bargain chains for a lot less.
