One & Only Ocean Club Review
Once the private hideaway of A&P heir Huntington Hartford, this exclusive resort on magnificent Cabbage Beach's quietest stretch provides the ultimate in understated—and decidedly posh—elegance. Its Versaille Gardens includes 35 acres of terraced serenity and an imported French cloister. Set amid private gardens, the spacious colonial-style rooms have intricately carved furniture, marble bathrooms, and private butlers. The open-air restaurant, Dune, is perched over the beach.

highly overpriced for what is delivered!when we checked in we had to wait til 530 beyond the advertised 3 pm check in then taken to a room that i had overheard someone complain loudly about earlier and the staff confirmed that it was the same room -it also had a musty smell and very uncomfortable pillows. We were told that the manager would make it up to us this turned out to be the cost of one of our lunches!the place is beautiful but service isnt great partly because they dont have enough staff working at dunes

We had high expectations of the Ocean Club but sadly we were let down in most areas.
Mainly these were on the personnel side, but catering was pretty woeful too. From the initial 'sniffy' welcome from reception (how dare I have a "Voucher" from a tour operator) through to the lack of response from our personalised Butler service, the staffing was well below what you would expect from a hotel of this supposed quality.
Our room overlooked the reception drop-off area and until midnight we would listen to the endless roar of shuttle busses coming and going, and the hotels SUV service slamming doors. The room was nice, although the air conditioning was deafening and impossible to sleep with it on (I mean DEAFENING!).
The Butler service is suposedly there to make your stay more enjoyable - we just found them to be obtrusive, and the daily session of 'selling' the hotel dinner options to us was tasteless. However, one day we gave-in and had Dinner in the "Dune" restaurant. Not a mistake I'll ever make again. The Butler who had spent so long trying to get us to dine there had failed to give them our names - just a room number which was eventually found, The table wasn't ready until 45mins after the booked time, and my meal, a $50 steak was so tough I had to send it back - no apologies from anyone other then the junior waitress - though the price was knocked off the $300 cost (for 2). I've had better meals in Denny's.
It's fair to say the grounds, beach and general surroundings are exceptionally beautiful though - and the grounds keepers deserve recognition for doing such a great job.
All in all my recommendation would be to look elsewhere.
