New Providence and Paradise Islands Sights

The Caves Review

These large limestone caverns that the waves sculpted over the aeons are said to have sheltered the early Arawak Indians. An oddity perched right beside the road, they're worth a glance—although in truth, there's not much to see, as the dark interior doesn't lend itself to exploration. A daiquiri bar is situated just alongside the caves, providing a nice place for a break, and across the street is a concrete viewing platform overlooking the ocean. Just a short drive beyond the caves, on an island between traffic lanes, is Conference Corner, where U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Canadian Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, and British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan planted trees on the occasion of their 1962 summit in Nassau.
