Fodor's Review

The clean white sand of Fortune Beach lies between two canal channels, and in the middle sits the Wyndham Viva Fortuna all-inclusive resort, where visitors can purchase day passes to use water sports equipment. Just steps either way from the resort however, the beach becomes quiet and secluded and offers an endless expanse both ways for exceptional strolling, easy off shore snorkeling and great swimming. The western end backs the Margarita Villa Sand Bar and the private

homes along Spanish Main Drive, what locals refer to as "Millionaire Row." The Eastern end is home to Banana Bay, where at low tide a shallow lagoon forms along side a long sand bar, allowing you to walk yards out to sea. Amenities: Food and drink, parking near east end only (no fee). Best for: solitude, walking, windsurfing, snorkeling, swimming, sunrise.
