Luciano's
Luciano's Review
Linens, soft candlelight, and a twinkling view of the harbor add to the glamour and romance of this sophisticated, second-story Port Lucaya restaurant with a dedicated following of yachters and locals. Its menu speaks French with English subtitles, including such specialties as coquilles St. Jacques florentine (scallops on spinach with hollandaise), filet au poivre vert (tenderloin fillet with green peppercorn sauce), scampi flambé, Dover sole, stuffed quail, and chateaubriand for two, served in the formal, subdued dining room or on the veranda overlooking the marina. For a big finish, order the flambéed crêpes suzette for two.

We've been going to Luciano's for several years when in Port Lucaya & it is the best!! I've tried many things on the menu - sometimes we have appetizer, soup or salad & dessert instead of a main entre & the service is as friendly & gracious as if we'd had a 7 course dinner. I truly don't understand the other reviews; very crabby people?

Though the setting is indeed beautiful, Luciano's food is sub-par - why come all the way to the Bahamas to eat inauthentic food? Farmed Atlantic salmon in the Caribbean?
As the previous poster stated, the service here is atrocious. After our meal was finished, I asked the massive Bahamian doorman / cab runner if the buses would still be running.... well, big mistake! He called me crazy, and said I must be an idiot if I though buses in the Bahamas would run after 6pm. When I responded that I didn't appreciate the way he was talking to me, the altercation escalated with him jabbing his giant fingers in my face. I was extremely physically intimidated and this was the only time during my visit to the Bahamas that I feared for my safety.
Stay away from this place! -

My husband and I ordered Chateaubriand for 2 as the entree, which was shown to us on a platter, then left at the side of the restaurant. Plated up by a waiter 5 minutes later, and left again. Finally arrived at the table completely cold. When we dared to comment that it was cold, we were argued with and told not to make a scene. One dish was taken away to re-heat in the microwave. The 2nd was taken away afterwards, so we did not eat together! The re-heated meals now had hot vegetables and potatoes, cold meat, and cold conjealed bernaise sauce, complete with skin. The staff were rude and ungracious, and the food overpriced for the quality. The decor also is about 20 years out of date - old fashioned and tired like the staff!
