Grand Bahama Island Sights

Updated 07/12/2013

Fodor's Review

Once a rowdy, good-time resort area, West End still attracts party folk on Sunday evenings for friendly, casual street gatherings. Today's reputation, however, rests more firmly on its charter fishing. Day visitors stop at the bayfront conch shacks for conch salad straight from the shell (try Shebo's or Ian on the Bay) or at other tiny eateries along the way like The Chicken Nest. Overnighters stay at Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour, a gated resort. Non-guests

are welcome at the hotel's beach side Tiki Bar for breakfast and lunch, or at the newly opened Dockside Grill for dinner. With the opening of award-winning Stuart Cove's newest scuba diving operation at Old Bahama Bay, visitors to West End can now embark on rare diving and snorkelling destinations not easily acccessed before.
