Chez Willie

$$$, French, New Providence Island

User Rating: ** 2.0

Fodor's Review:

Elegant and romantic, this restaurant specializes in French cuisine with a Bahamian twist. Dine by candlelight in the intimate dining room or alfresco on the patio overlooking the lush gardens. Start with caviar or goose liver pâté, then try the signature grouper served in a puff pastry with crabmeat and coconut cream sauce. Or go with someone you love and share the chateaubriand for two.

Antiquated Food and Atmosphere, Overpriced, Overrated

Posted by soprano from Atlanta on 3/12/07

Based on the write up in our Fodor's travel book, we thought this might be a great place for dinner. My family and I arrived there to learn the food was sub par and hugely overpriced. I mean, the raspberry ice palate cleanser was freezer burned. My broccoli came out smelling burned, and the puff pastry of one their special dishes was soggy. What a disappointment all around.
