Fodor's Review:

For a low-key atmosphere, try this Cable Beach mainstay, built in the 1940s on a 1/2-mi sandy beach. Be sure to ask for one of the refurbished rooms, decorated in colonial style. All rooms have balconies, but the views vary. Guests have use of all nonmotorized water-sports equipment. Tennis on the six courts (three are lighted) is free before 5 PM, $7 per person hourly during prime time (5 PM-9 PM). The hotel has indoor and outdoor restaurants on-site, as well as a shopping arcade. The Crystal Palace Casino is next door, and the Cable Beach Golf Club is across the street.

Going Down Quickly

Posted by Diane from Illinois on 8/15/06

Our first stay was in May of 05 and we didn't mind the older furnishings as staff was friendly and very helpful. Restaurant choices were great on meal plan. Went back in May of 06 and between sewer back-ups, unfriendly staff, and being charged again for food after already paying for meal plan and staff saying they were too busy to help when calling long distance really was the topper. Watch your billing and stay some place else.
