$$-$$$, Cat Island
Fodor's Review:
Set in a wide bay a mile off the main road -- just south of Alligator Point -- the club has seven deluxe cottages perched steps away from a 3-mi stretch of sugary white beach. The native stone and stucco cottages have wood and tile floors, colorful island furniture, complete kitchenware, and ceiling fans. You can cook yourself, or the club will provide a cook. Either way, they will stock your cottage before your arrival (just send your grocery list). Snorkel, kayak, canoe, sail a Hobie Cat, fish, swim, or just lie on the beach. The beach bar serves breakfast every morning.
