$$$-$$$$, Grand Bahama Island
Fodor's Review:
Relax and luxuriate in relative seclusion at this hotel designed for boating vacationers as well as fly-in guests looking to get away from it all. Waterfront suites, one and two bedrooms, have heavy wood furnishings and views of the beach through French doors. All suites contain wet bars, bathrobes, cooking utensils, and DVD-CD players (with a complimentary on-site library). Premium suites include jetted bathtubs and in-room laundry facilities. Bike, kayak, and snorkel equipment use is complimentary. Although endearingly intimate and individual, Old Bahama Bay has all the amenities of a full-grown, self-contained resort, including a casual and a fine restaurant and a customs office, making it one of the Bahamas' top small marina properties. In March 2007, 24 new units opened, plus there are plans for a spa, 200 oceanfront bungalows, and an adjacent 80- to 100-room hotel property to open between now and 2009.
