An elegant yet energetic flair accents this 9-acre oceanfront resort, right on the pink-sand beach. The main lobby is a study in British colonial style, while the billiard room off the bar attracts a younger and hipper crowd. Guest rooms are spread out over three buildings, and rooms in the Lucaya building are the largest, with balconies and ocean views. All are decorated in a modern tropical style, with neutral tones, streamlined wood furniture, and flat-screen TVs. Worth the extra splurge is the Beach House, a two-bedroom cottage right on the sand that's closer to the water than any other rental property on the island. At night the lights are dimmed, candles flicker, and Chef Ludovic Jarland serves Caribbean cuisine with a French flair in the Terrace restaurant, where open arches frame views of the lush gardens and the sea beyond.
