Rainbow Inn Review
Immaculate, generously sized cottages, some octagonal—all with large private porches—have sweeping views of the ocean. The resort was renovated in 2009 by new Canadian owners. The restaurant is one of the island's best, and islanders drive great distances for a meal here, especially when the famed Dr. Sea Breeze strums away and sings island tunes on Wednesday and Friday nights (in high season). The Nautical Bar, hung with authentic ships' wheels salvaged from wrecks, attracts British and American expats as well as locals. A sublime beach is a long walk down the paved road; rent a car or use the on-property swimming dock. The helpful staff will arrange fishing trips and adventure tours.
