Fodor's Review

One of the Atlantic's last great secrets, Tiamo is a hideaway for jetsetters in-the-know; arrival at this low-key yet sophisticated South Bight eco-resort via private launch is just the beginning. Over-the-top service awaits, along with a cold drink in the Great Room—a stress-free gathering place with wood-beam ceilings that naturally combines bar and library. Individual cottages with wraparound porches are strung out along the powdery beach, shaded by coconut palms.

Commodious bedrooms with soft linens are positioned to receive the cooling ocean breeze. Cool Cottages and the Pool Cottage are air-conditioned with enormous bathrooms and a minibar. Island Breeze Cottages are the top eco option, without air-conditioning. Leisurely meals, exquisitely prepared with the freshest ingredients, include seafood delights, homemade breads, and luscious desserts. All meals, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages are included in the room rate. To explore the wilds of sea and land, guided snorkeling, sea kayaking, nature hikes, and fishing excursions can be arranged at your whim. Expect to see dolphins and prepare to skim the crystal-clear water in a see-through kayak.
