Hank's Place Restaurant and Bar
Hank's Place Restaurant and Bar Review
On the north side of Fresh Creek, a block or so east of the bridge, this restaurant and bar is shaded by coconut palms and graced with clear views of the water. Eat inside, where plastic chairs and flowered tablecloths define the vibe, or outside on the spacious deck. Bahamian specialties—steamed, fried, or baked fish or chicken; ribs; shrimp; and pork chops—make it a favorite hangout for locals and visitors, especially for the Saturday-night parties. Fresh lobster, prepared to your liking, is available in season (August-March). Hank's signature cocktail, aptly named "Hanky Panky," is a dynamite frozen rum-and-fruit juice concoction. If you're looking for a cheap stay, Hank has four air-conditioned guest rooms for rent. He also rents flats boats and can arrange fishing guides.
