Great Itineraries
Are you perplexed about which of Aruba's many beaches is best or about how to spend your time during one of the island's rare rainy days? Below are some suggestions to guide you. There are also a few ideas on how to spend a night (or two) celebrating all the perfect days you've been having.
A Perfect Day at the Beach
If you didn't bring your own, borrow or rent snorkel gear at your hotel so that you can fully appreciate the calm water and all its inhabitants. Eagle Beach is the island's best, and you can grab a space under one of the many palapa umbrellas if you arrive early enough. The water here is fine for both swimming and snorkeling. Be sure to take in liquids regularly to avoid dehydration—rum punch may sound good, but water is probably best. As the sun goes down, hop back across the road to the very casual Pata Pata Bar at La Cabana Resort for happy hour. There's no need to change.
A Perfect Rainy Day
Even though Aruba is outside the hurricane belt, you may find yourself with a rainy day. Start off with breakfast at DeliFrance in the Certified Mega Mall, then head to downtown Oranjestad and visit some museums, perhaps the Archaeological Museum of Aruba or the Numismatic Museum. Then why wait until dinner to have an elegant meal when you can have one for lunch? Make a reservation at L. G. Smith's Steak & Chop House, one of Aruba's best restaurants. After lunch, head to the Mandara Spa at Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club; your body will thank you. Your soul will, too. Or if you want more activity, try the Eagle Bowling Palace. You could also take in a movie at Seaport Cinema in the Seaport Village Mall.
A Perfect Night of Romance
Aruba is one of the most romantic places on earth, and one of Aruba's most romantic experiences is a sunset cruise. Try a voyage on the 43-foot sailing yacht Tranquilo, which includes drinks. If you don't have your sea legs yet, a sunset catamaran cruise might be more your style. For dinner, Pinchos Grill & Bar is hard to beat, even on an island filled with romantic dining options. End the evening with a walk—hand in hand—along the waterfront.
