Driftwood Review

Charming owner Francine Merryweather greets you at the door of this Aruban institution, which resembles a series of fishermen's huts. Her husband Herby sets out in his boat every morning, as he has since the late 1980s, to bring the freshest ingredients back to the kitchen. Order his catch prepared as you like (Aruban style—panfried with a fresh tomato, vegetable, and local herbs—is best) or another of the fine fish dishes. The fish soup is based on a family recipe and has been a staple on the menu for more than 25 years. You can't go wrong with the white sangria punch; the maître d' may even let you take home the recipe. This restaurant participates in AGA's Dine-Around program.

    Great local seafood spot

Driftwood offers their catch of the day that can be prepared six different ways My wife had a great barracuda the first night and I had a grilled Mahi-Mahi that was perfect. We went back a second night it was the Wahoo for us both again excellent The Driftwood service can be a bit slow but you can make that claim about every restaurant we went to during our stay and the décor may remind you of Red Lobster but for grilled fresh seafood it is hard to find any better a must if you visit the island
