This seaside restaurant, whose name means "on the water" in Malaysian, is simultaneously cozy and chic. Everything is seductive, from the tables tucked under a giant thatched roof by the water's edge to the dining room set under a palapa roof. The restaurant has moved to a new location on a pier near the airport but seems to have lost none of its charm though the fact it is harder to find means it is often less crowded than its previous incarnation. The beef cooked in local beer with foie gras, apples, and cabbage is an unusual but tasty option. Reservations are essential at any time, and if you're lucky you can dine at the chef's table, which is right in the kitchen.

My wife and I had dinner our last night in Aruaba at Marandi. The food was excellent we had the Veal Ossobucco and Grouper Marandi. Both were simply superb. The setting is perfect in everyway and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It is well worth the $25 cab ride from the high rise hotel area.

Go there to enjoy the view and have a drink. Food was remarkably NOT good. We couldn't wait to leave.

Chose this restaurant for our first night in Aruba and really should have stayed at the hotel until we got our Aruba bearings because we really had a hard time finding this place and had to ask directions several times (its down a dirt road, toward the water, off the traffic circle just before the airport). The food was very good, the service lovely and it was a treat to eat outdoors in February.
