$$-$$$, Eclectic, San Nicolas
Fodor's Review:
Charlie's has been a San Nicolas hangout for more than 50 years. The walls and ceiling are covered with license plates, hard hats, sombreros, life preservers, baseball pennants, intimate apparel -- you name it. The draw here is the nonstop party atmosphere -- somewhere between a frat house and a beach bar. Decent but somewhat overpriced specialties are tenderloin and steamed shrimp in the shell. And don't leave before sampling Charlie's "honeymoon sauce" (so called because it's really hot).
