$$$-$$$$, Five Islands
Fodor's Review:
"Location, location, location" is the hospitality industry mantra, and four secluded beaches (including one clothing-optional strand) compose this resort's main attraction. A backdrop of jade mountains, verdant grounds with landscaped walkways, restored sugar mill, and plantation-style cottages trimmed with gingerbread fretwork and radiant purple or orange bougainvillea maximize Hawksbill's old-time Caribbean feel. Garden-view rooms enjoy restricted water views, making them the best buy; the original air-conditioned Club units (especially 138-142) are isolated from the action, but hand-painted tilework, beamed vaulted ceilings, and superlative vistas make them the choice accommodations -- other than the restored, three-bedroom greathouse. Though a full slate of entertainment is on tap, the mix of honeymooners and mature couples is generally sedate, thanks to the restful surroundings.
