Weddings in Antigua and Barbuda

Wedding planning is relatively simple in Antigua; most hotels can help with the arrangements, and many offer complete wedding packages (from flowers to catering to videography). No minimum residency or blood test is required for adults 18 and over. Visit the Ministry of Legal Affairs on the outskirts of St. John's any weekday to pay the license application fee of $150. Bring valid passports as proof of citizenship and, in the case of previous marriages, the original divorce or annulment decree; widows or widowers should present the original marriage and death certificates. Then visit the Registrar General's office in downtown St. John's and get a marriage certificate; registration fee is $40. If you marry anywhere but the courthouse in a civil ceremony, you must pay the marriage officer $50. If you prefer a church ceremony, you must receive permission from the clerical authorities. Two or more witnesses must sign the marriage certificate.
