Safety in Antigua and Barbuda

Throughout the Caribbean, incidents of petty theft are increasing. Antigua is sadly no exception, and was rocked by the murder of two British honeymooners in August 2008. Leave your valuables in the hotel safe-deposit box; don't leave them unattended in your room, on a beach, or in a rental car. Also, the streets of St. John's are fairly deserted at night, so it's not a good idea to wander about alone.
