Fodor's Review:

Adventuresome Aussie chef Darryn Pitman is so enthusiastic about Asian culture and cuisine that he named his son—and this fun, funky, tapas-martini bar—after a popular southern Indian dessert. The just-hip-enough lounge (acid jazz, flickering candles, multihue fountain, low-slung banquettes) is conducive to sampling more than one of the 30-plus cocktails, half of them martinis. Even these display Darryn's brilliant feel for balancing complex tastes. The 20 tapas selections (larger curries and superb sushi are also available) travel the Spice Route from Malaysia (chicken satay) to the Middle East (lamb kebabs with yogurt sauce) in style. His savvy wine selections perfectly complement the flavorful fare. Most nights end in dancing, professional (belly dancers in full regalia) or otherwise (tipsy tabletop), but the vibe remains exuberant without becoming excessive.
