Weddings in Anguilla

Anguilla's beaches and sybaritic resorts, such as Cap Juluca and Malliouhana, provide ideal settings for destination weddings and honeymoons. Several resorts will help plan everything in advance. Some people are discouraged by a fairly lengthy residency period to get an inexpensive marriage license: if one partner lives on Anguilla at least 15 days before the wedding date (the visitor is considered as "living" there after 15 days for wedding purposes), the license costs $40; otherwise, you must pay a fee of $284. Allow two working days to process applications, which can be obtained weekdays from 8:30 to 4 at the Judicial Department. Both parties must present proof of identity (valid passport, birth certificate, or driver's license with photo), as well as an original decree of divorce where applicable and death certificate if widowed. Blood tests are not required. There are additional requirements if you wish to marry in the Catholic Church. Any questions or inquiries should be directed to the Judicial Department, in The Valley (264/497-2377 or 3347).
