Ferries run frequently between Anguilla and St. Martin. Boats leave from Blowing Point on Anguilla approximately every half hour from 7:30 AM to 6:15 PM and from Marigot on St. Martin every 45 minutes from 8 AM to 7 PM. There are no evening ferries. You pay a $5 departure tax before boarding, in addition to the $15 one-way fare. On very windy days the 20-minute trip can be bouncy, so bring medication if you suffer from motion sickness. An information booth outside the customs shed in Blowing Point is usually open daily from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, but sometimes the attendant wanders off. A new terminal is planned for 2010. For schedule information and info on special boat charters, contact Link Ferries. The larger resort hotels usually offer private transfers by speedboat, which meet arrivals at the local boat dock at a cost of about $75 per person. If you need this service, mention it to your reservations representative, who will make the arrangements.
