By Taxi in Anguilla

By Taxi

Taxis are fairly expensive, so if you plan to explore the island's many beaches and restaurants, it may be more cost-effective to rent a car. Taxi rates are regulated by the government, and there are fixed fares from point to point, which are listed in brochures the drivers should have handy and are also published in the local guide, What We Do in Anguilla. At this writing it is $22 from the airport or $20 from Blowing Point Ferry to West End hotels. Posted rates are for one or two people; each additional passenger adds $4 to the total and there is sometimes a charge for luggage. You'll always find taxis at the Blowing Point Ferry landing and at the airport. You will need to call them to pick you up from hotels and restaurants, and arrange ahead with the driver who took you if you will require a taxi late at night from one of the nightclubs or bars.
