These mostly calm waters are surrounded by a slender beach. For centuries Anguillians have ventured from these sands in colorful handmade fishing boats. There are several bars and restaurants (Arawak Cafe, Cote Mer, and Smitty's are best for casual lunches), and this is the departure point for the three-minute boat ride to Scilly Cay, where a thatched beach bar serves seafood. Just hail the restaurant's free boat and plan to spend most of the day (the all-inclusive lunch starts at $40 and is worth the price), Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday only.
