One meal at Mango's and you'll understand why it's a perennial favorite of repeat visitors to Anguilla. Sparkling-fresh fish specialties have starring roles on the menu here. Light and healthy choices like a spicy grilled whole snapper are deliciously perfect. Save room for dessert -- the warm apple tart and the coconut cheesecake are worth the splurge. There's an extensive wine list, and the Cuban cigar humidor is a luxurious touch. The proprietor, a former New Jerseyian known islandside as Mango Dave, keeps a watchful eye over his chic domain and over his stylish clientele, a veritable People magazine spread in high season. Excellent local live music several nights a week adds to the cheerful party atmosphere.

don't go here unless you are from the east coast

Not a typical Anguillian scene where the people are always friendly and low-key. The owner is toooooo much. I don't go to Anguilla to get dressed up and pretend the only cool peole are from New York.

Mango's is Back!!!!
Posted by BeachLoverSE from SE US on 5/27/07
We have been to Mango's each year since 2000, and it had always been our favorite on the island. In 2006, however, after raving about it, we brought friends and were embarrassed at the poor quality of the food and the horrible service. We had talked about writing Mango's off of our list.
Something made us give it a try again in 2007, and we were not disappointed. Mango Dave seems to be once again running a tight ship. The wine list was the best on the island (much better selctions than Blanchards, in my opinion), with selections that are very difficult to get in the states.
We began with the conch chowder, which was rich and creamy. The brazero grilled fish was fresh and flavorfu, and the coconut cheesecake was divine. All with wonderfully professional service.
I can again recommend Mango's without hesitation.

Not that great

Found the food to be average, and definitely not worth the price. The service was very cold. There was no live music as advertised. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Stay far away

This was an overall aweful experience. The food was bad and way over priced. We payed a $100 per person versus approx $75 at the others (Blanchard's included). The service was poor, we even found the owner a bit rude. We were also excited for the live music, which was a poor karaoke performance. They were reading Patsy Cline lyrics from a DVD screen. There are definately much better choices on the island.

Owner is the Crab

We heard good things and found disaapointment. My partner and I were most certainly discriminated against because of who we were. We received no service and were treated rudely. The NJ owner saw too it. The food was average if best
