The Havannah Review

This is the ultimate couples' retreat, a beautifully designed 16-villa boutique resort on a lovely sweep of white sandy beach overlooking the islands of Lelepa and Mosa. Located 30 minutes' drive from Port Vila, the resort is named after Havannah Bay, an area used by the legendary Catalina flying boats that landed in Vanuatu during World War II. The villas are set amid gardens, by a split-level infinity pool, and on the waterfront. Although topped with thatched Melanesian-style roofs, the villas are the ultimate in modern luxury, with cool white walls, cream sofas, and chairs with bright cushions and sleek timber finishes. Bathrooms have rain showers and double vanities, and each has a private terrace; the waterfront villas have plunge pools. Complimentary cultural tours, bush hikes, fishing with a local guide, kayaking, and snorkeling are great ways to while away days in paradise, and the twice-a-day complimentary transfers to Vila are ideal for those who want to experience the little capital's nightlife and shopping.
