About the Restaurants

It may seem like the end of the world, but Tonga offers a range of European-style dining, as well as its own Polynesian-inflected dishes (featuring chicken, coconut, and yam). Prices are generally reasonable, but will reflect the fact that everything but seafood and locally grown produce must be shipped in. As expected, seafood is fresh, plentiful, and your best dining bet. You'll also find a delicious array of fresh fruit—bananas, avocado, breadfruit, citrus, mango, passion fruit—and their juices, plus fresh salads, pork, and imported beef.
