When to Go
Peak Season: Mid-April to October; Late December to Mid-January
This is the dry season: you can spend all day traversing the island without fear of a downpour, and hotel prices reflect this. December to mid-January, though it is during the rainy season, is also busy with overseas Samoans returning home.
Off Season: Early and Mid-December, Late January to March
With the exception of the Christmas–New Year period, these months see a lull in tourism, particularly because the rainy season runs from November to April. Avoid the holidays and you’re likely to find good hotel deals.
Shoulder Season: Mid-April to June; November
Outside of rainy season downpours, there isn’t really an off time to visit Samoa. Mid-April to June will see hotel prices slowly creeping to their peak rates; they’ll start going down again in late November.
