Fodor's Review

Opposite the Parliament Buildings is the country's national library. The Alexander Turnbull Library, a "library within a library," specializes in archival materials about New Zealand and the Pacific. Its books, manuscripts, photographs, newspapers, maps, and oral history tapes are available for research. Exhibitions are regularly held in the National Library Gallery. It also has a lively public events program.
