Visitor Information

The visitor-information centers in Nelson, Motueka, and Takaka are all open daily 9 to 5. The Nelson area is included in The Treasured Pathway (www.treasuredpathway.co.nz), a historically focused trail across the top of the South Island. The Art in Its Own Place guidebook, available at visitor centers and local shops, is a good resource for the area's crafts offerings.

The Taste Web site, www.thetaste.co.nz, is regularly updated, covering mostly the local wine, food, and arts scenes.
