It's not all about wine in Marlborough. Craft beers are a fast-growing trend, and at Dodson Street you get to sample from the largest selection of craft beers and ciders on the South Island. The adjacent Malthouse building has been a brewery since 1858 and is now the home of local craft beer Renaissance. In the Dodson Street Beer Garden hearty ales are matched with traditional German cuisine (schnitzel, pork knuckles), Italian pizza, and a good range of classic Kiwi fare
(seafood chowder, beer-battered fish-and-chips). There's also a good kids' menu, and yes, a range of Marlborough wines available.
