Fodor's Review

A worthy detour is to drive or walk (if you need to work up an appetite) to the lookout point on Princes Drive. You'll get to survey the beauty of the entire region—the city, harbor, the Boulder Bank, and Haulashore Island, and farther afield across the entire Nelson Bay to the blue hills of Abel Tasman National Park.

Princes Drive can be reached via a number of roads climbing up from the city and from Wakefield Quay and Rocks Road that lead along the waterfront

heading west to the airport.
