Fodor's Review

When traveling between Christchurch and Kaikoura the Mainline Station Cafe at Domett stands out among the slim eating options along the way. Built in the 100-year-old ex-Domett railway station, in the middle of rural North Canterbury, it's a sunny spot with a sheltered area of tables outdoors and a rustic atmosphere inside. There's a scrummy selection of cakes, slices, and cabinet food and a small blackboard menu of tasty homemade brunch and lunch dishes. Sunday in summer

and spring is market day with local foods, arts and crafts available.
